Cosmetic Bonding

Treatment is possible in just a single appointment. Unlike other cosmetic procedures, cosmetic bonding doesn’t require any of your tooth structure to be removed to make way for a restoration (like a veneer or a crown).

What to expect from treatment

We will have a sit down with you to discuss the specific ailments you have with the tooth or teeth you wish to have bonded, and suggest ways this can be altered. It might be that one tooth is shaped differently to neighbouring teeth, you have a tooth that’s slightly discoloured or a tooth has sustained cosmetic changes through injury. These are all reasons you might wish to have a tooth cosmetically bonded.

To start with, the tooth surface is cleaned using a gel. A composite resin material is applied and for patients who are having a tooth shaped, the tooth is sculpted to the desired shape. A special light hardens the resin and the tooth is gradually layered. Finally, the tooth is polished.
